Author's note
Cast Iron font by West Wind Fonts channels bold, carnival-style lettering with thick slab shapes, striped interiors, and molten-looking curls pooling along the bottoms. The heavy outlines and built-in shadow give each word a sense of weight and metalwork, like signage stamped out of old machinery or fairground marquees.
This free font works especially well for posters, vintage logos, packaging, event titles, banners, book or album covers, and game or escape-room graphics. Cast Iron is most comfortable at large sizes where its stripes and flourishes can breathe, and it pairs nicely with a simple sans serif for body text to keep layouts readable.
