Author's note

Chainreact Block Boxter font by Jan F. Poulsen of Chainreact Media Design is a free pixelated bitmap typeface. Built from tight vertical stacks of square pixels, it has a slim, almost wireframe feel that reads crisply even at tiny sizes. The letters click together like a row of LEDs, giving text a stripped‑down, digital pulse that feels straight out of early consoles and lo‑fi terminals.

Using Chainreact Block Boxter, you can nail compact UI labels, retro game HUDs, scoreboards, mini menus, tech badges, and glitchy motion graphics where space is scarce. This free font holds its structure on low resolutions and small canvases, so it shines on overlays and in‑game text. For a simple pairing, use a clean geometric sans for longer copy and let Chainreact Block Boxter handle titles and in‑screen microtext at consistent pixel multiples.
