Author's note

CrackFir font by David Rakowski is a free decorative display typeface that looks like its letters were hacked from charred wood and set alight. Each character bristles with rough, irregular edges and flame-like spikes, giving your words a crackling, out-of-control energy that feels straight out of a horror movie or a burning carnival sign. It’s bold, chaotic, and impossible to ignore, especially at large sizes.

Using CrackFir, you can light up horror posters, Halloween invitations, metal or punk band logos, haunted house signage, thriller book covers, and edgy game titles. This free font works best when you let it shout—use it for short, punchy phrases and pair it with a plain, sturdy sans serif for supporting text to keep the chaos readable.
