Author's note

CrappyJoe font by J O E B O B graphics is a free brush script typeface that looks like it was scrawled in thick, half-dried marker on the back of a gig flyer. Its inky strokes wobble, clump, and taper in all the wrong—and therefore right—places, giving every word a loud, chaotic personality. Letters feel hurried and off-kilter, as if they were written standing up on a moving bus, which adds a gritty, human energy you can’t fake.

Using CrappyJoe, your layouts instantly pick up a scruffy, DIY edge that shines on zines, punk or garage band posters, horror‑comedy flyers, skate stickers, edgy social posts, and rough-and-ready packaging. This free font works best big and bold, where the chunky blobs and streaks can really show. Pair it with a plain, narrow sans serif for body text to keep the message readable while letting crappyJoe handle the attitude.
