Author's note
Crowns and Coronets font by Steven J. Lundeen of Emerald City Fontwerks is a free ancient dingbat typeface that turns every keystroke into a richly inked royal emblem. Each crown feels pulled straight from an old engraving plate: dense cross‑hatching, tiny pearls, sharp metal points, and velvet cushions rendered in crisp black. The textures are delightfully imperfect, giving your layouts the patina of a real vintage print instead of a flat, modern icon set.
Using Crowns and Coronets, you can instantly add ceremonial flair to invitations, book covers, heraldic logos, certificates, game interfaces, packaging, or historical infographics. The consistent weight and detail make these symbols strong enough for seals and badges, yet intricate enough for borders and dividers when set smaller. This free font pairs well with a clean serif or sans set in all caps, letting the ornate crowns act as bold, decorative anchors in your design.
