Author's note

DarkArts BB font by Nate Piekos of Blambot is a free occult dingbat typeface that turns ordinary layouts into arcane artifacts. Each symbol feels scratched in wet ink—crooked curves, hooked strokes, and twisted triangles suggesting forbidden alphabets without ever being readable text. The glyphs have a gritty, hand-drawn wobble that keeps them from feeling generic, adding just enough menace and mystery to sell your world-building.

Using DarkArts BB, you can quickly build spell books, fantasy comics, TTRPG rule pages, game UIs, eerie posters, escape-room props, or haunted attraction signage that look steeped in secret lore. This free font shines when scattered as borders, dividers, or coded “notes” rather than run in long lines. For a strong visual hierarchy, pair it with a clean, condensed sans serif at small sizes and let DarkArts BB take over as large, inky symbols that punctuate key moments.
