Author's note

Decade font is a free eroded display typeface with thick, rounded forms that look like they’ve been scraped by sandpaper and city walls. The letters feel bold and dense, yet the rough speckled texture keeps them from feeling too clean or corporate, giving headlines a worn-in, lived-in energy straight out of a flyer-covered alley. It has a strong, almost blocky silhouette, so even with all the grunge, every word still reads loud and clear.

Using Decade, you can push attitude-heavy projects—gig posters, album covers, streetwear branding, handmade zines, video thumbnails, stickers, and bold event flyers—without having to fake texture in Photoshop. This free font works best big, where its chipped edges and inky pits really show, and pairs well with a simple geometric sans at smaller sizes to keep layouts readable while Decade carries the grit.
