Author's note

Desperation font by Jakob Fischer aka PizzaDude is a free distorted display typeface that looks like it’s been scratched out in a panic. The letters feel raw and shaky, with ragged edges and uneven strokes that almost vibrate against the background. There’s a splattery, ink-blot texture running through each shape, giving your words a frantic, handmade energy that’s hard to ignore.

Using Desperation, you can instantly push posters, horror titles, thriller book covers, zines, gig flyers, album art, and escape room graphics into darker territory. This free font thrives at large sizes where its gritty details can breathe, while a clean, condensed sans works well beside it for supporting text. Drop it on a rough paper texture or a stark, high-contrast color scheme to make the chaos feel even more intense.
