Author's note

Digital Strip Italic font by Nate Piekos Blambot is a free comic display typeface with a fast, hand-lettered slant that feels ripped right from the panels. The tall, slightly compressed letters and inky, brushed strokes give it a lively, spoken-out-loud energy, as if every word is mid-action. It reads cleanly at medium sizes while still keeping that loose, drawn-by-hand vibe that comic fans love.

Using Digital Strip Italic, you can letter comic book dialogue, webcomics, zines, character voices, playful logos, and bold social posts without losing that authentic strip-style charm. The Digital Strip family’s consistent rhythm keeps word balloons and captions easy to scan, even when the text gets chatty. This free font works beautifully when paired with a simple geometric sans for credits or UI labels, and it really sings when you let it run big and wide across the page.
