Author's note

Dos Equis font by Nick Curtis is a free retro serif typeface that channels smoky jazz-club signage and classic liquor labels. Its tall, slender letters are sliced by bold vertical bars, creating a rhythmic black-and-white pattern that feels both ornamental and sharply modern. The result is a textured, almost inky presence that grabs attention without needing heavy ornament or color tricks.

Using Dos Equis, you can give cocktail menus, vintage posters, bar or speakeasy logos, book covers, boutique packaging, and event invitations a distinctively old-world yet graphic edge. This free font works best in larger sizes where its split strokes and tight spacing can really show off. For body copy, pair it with a simple geometric sans serif in a lighter weight to keep layouts readable while Dos Equis handles the drama in your headings.
