Author's note

Dragon Harbour font by S. John Ross is a free scary display typeface with the twitchy energy of something scrawled in a sea-worn grimoire. Its jagged curves, blobby ink pockets, and uneven strokes feel like letters dragged out of deep water-part eldritch horror, part pirate curse. The spacing stays surprisingly readable, so you get full-on atmosphere without losing legibility at a glance.

Using Dragon Harbour, titles instantly take on a haunted, nautical-fantasy mood that’s great for horror book covers, tabletop RPG campaigns, Halloween posters, escape room branding, game logos, and spooky YouTube thumbnails. This free font works best in large sizes; pair it with a clean geometric sans for body text to keep the eerie lettering front and center.
