Author's note

Elmore Pixels font by Élise Benoît of Microtype Fonts is a free pixelated bitmap typeface that looks like it just dropped out of a vintage arcade cabinet. Chunky square bodies, stepped curves, and tight, brick-like spacing give each word the weight of a game title screen or a glowing scoreboard. The rhythm is blocky but controlled, so even in all caps it stays legible and hits with that crunchy, 8‑bit energy.

Using Elmore Pixels, you can lock in a consistent retro voice across indie game menus, HUDs, splash screens, stream overlays, event posters, and bold social graphics. This free font shines when used large, where each pixel reads cleanly and becomes part of the graphic texture. For longer copy or UI labels, pair Elmore Pixels with a simple geometric sans in a smaller size to keep the nostalgia on top while the text underneath stays clear and modern.
