Author's note

Else font by Mr Chips is a free digital display typeface that turns letters into constellations of bold, pill-like dots. Instead of solid strokes, each character is broken into smooth, inky capsules that feel both futuristic and strangely tactile, like a digital clock that’s been melted and reassembled. The rhythm between the dots creates a pulsing, animated feel even in static text, pulling the eye in to decode what it’s seeing.

Using Else, you can push headlines into pure graphic territory—great for experimental posters, electronic music artwork, sci‑fi titles, motion graphics, gallery branding, or tech event visuals. This free font thrives at large sizes where its dotted structure can breathe; pair it with a clean geometric sans for body copy to keep your layouts readable while Else does the visual heavy lifting.
