Author's note

Fairfax Italic, created by Rebecca Bettencourt and credited to Kreative Software, is a free italic pixel font with tall, mostly narrow lettering. Its uneven widths and sharply cut inner spaces give the alphabet a lively rhythm. Broad openings keep the compact forms from feeling overly dense.

In game interfaces, the clipped forms can suggest early home computers and coin-op machines without copying a specific screen style.
