Fantastic Pete by The Mighty Pete is a free ornamental Gothic initial font with a storybook, illuminated feel. Its defining move is the lavish opening letter, where curling vine-like flourishes, leaf forms, and fine parallel strokes turn the first character into a decorative frame while the rest of the lettering stays comparatively light and flowing.
This free font makes most sense in book covers, wedding stationery, certificates, posters, and chapter openings where a single elaborate initial can carry the mood. It also suits monograms and short title lines, especially when you want that first letter to do the theatrical work and set a romantic, old-world tone.
