Author's note

FilmStrip font by Whoami Design is a free decorative display typeface that locks every character into its own bold little frame of film. Thick black edges, tiny sprocket holes, and bright white panels give it the gritty, tactile feel of real celluloid spooling through a projector. It reads like a strip of titles cut straight from an old-school editing bay, instantly signaling “cinema” before anyone even reads the words.

Using FilmStrip, you can brand movie nights, film festival posters, retro cinema flyers, YouTube channel art, tickets, and opening title cards with a single, unmistakable visual cue. The steady rhythm of the frames keeps even busy headlines organized, so it works beautifully in wide banners and website headers. For supporting text, pair this free font with a simple geometric sans at a smaller size to let FilmStrip handle the spotlight.
