Author's note

Free Serif, from the Free Software Foundation, is a free classic serif font with a bookish, old-style voice. The letters mix crisp wedge-like serifs with flowing curves and a gentle contrast, giving the font a calm, literary tone rather than a sharp editorial snap.

It fits naturally in book covers, essays, cultural posters, program notes, and magazine deck lines where a familiar serif presence feels right.
