GlyphBasic2 Font

Glyph Basic 2, by the Centre for Computer-aided Egyptological Research at Utrecht University, is a free ancient Egyptian hieroglyph dingbat font built around bird signs and other lean, emblematic forms. The drawings feel spare and archaeological rather than ornamental, with long beaks, watchful eyes, and clear profile silhouettes that echo carved or inked hieroglyphs.

This free font makes sense in museum graphics, exhibition panels, book covers, historical posters, and classroom material where a touch of Egyptology needs to read as scholarly instead of theatrical. It also works well for title cards and short headings, because the pictorial signs carry meaning and rhythm even when used as a brief decorative run.
