Author's note

Gypsy Curse font by Chad Savage is a free scary display typeface that looks like it’s clawed out of a scratchy, inky nightmare. The letters feel torn and splintered, with rough edges and spidery extensions that creep into the negative space, giving every word a distressed, hand-summoned vibe. It’s bold, messy, and immediately sets a dark, unsettling tone.

Using Gypsy Curse, your titles will scream on horror posters, haunted house branding, Halloween party flyers, creepy book covers, game logos, and YouTube thumbnails. This free font thrives at large sizes where its jagged texture can breathe, and it pairs best with a clean, simple sans serif for supporting text.

Created 2005 while watching "Lord of Illusions." Inspired by horror movie poster lettering from the mid-20th century.
