Author's note
Heat Wave font by Xerographer Fonts is a free eroded display typeface that looks like letters are melting in the sun. Thick, blocky forms are sliced into tight, vibrating horizontal lines, creating a shimmering, almost glitchy heat-haze effect. The result feels tactile and slightly unstable—bold enough to grab attention, but distressed just enough to suggest danger, noise, or sweltering energy.
Using Heat Wave, big titles instantly feel loud and reckless, so it shines on gig posters, horror or apocalypse movie graphics, beach-party flyers, album covers, festival branding, and eye-catching YouTube or game titles. This free font works best oversized, with plenty of breathing room around it. For supporting text, pair it with a clean geometric sans so the gritty texture of HeatWave stays firmly in the spotlight.
