Author's note

I am Monomer font by Tommy Cary is a free eroded display typeface that looks like it’s been scraped out of thick ink with a razor. Tall, monolithic strokes are bitten away into jagged gaps, so words feel half-constructed, half-destroyed-like a poster weathered on a city wall or a signal glitch frozen mid-frame. The rhythm stays surprisingly steady, which keeps all that chaos readable when you crank the size up.

Using I am Monomer, you get a raw, industrial texture that instantly roughens up album covers, rave flyers, zines, protest posters, horror titles, and experimental branding. This free font shines in short, punchy phrases where its fragmented silhouettes can really breathe. Pair it with a clean geometric sans in small caps for body text, and let I am Monomer handle the loud, distressed headlines.
