Author's note

JeffNichols, created by D. Rakowski of ALLTYPE, is a free medieval initial font built from ornate capitals enclosed in rough, irregular square frames. Dense black strokes, curling leaflike flourishes, and small notched details give the letters the look of old hand-cut woodblock ornaments, with uneven edges and compact curls tucked into the surrounding borders.

Medieval history and folklore provide the clearest setting for this design, making it a fitting source of decorated chapter initials for fantasy novels, historical game graphics, and themed event posters. In publishing, each framed letter can function as a small illustration as well as an opening capital.
