Author's note

JF Rock Outcrop font by Jester Font Studio is a free cartoon display typeface that looks like chunky boulders stacked into words. Each letter feels carved and cracked, with thick, inky outlines and soft, blobby corners that keep it playful instead of harsh. It has a bold, tactile presence-almost like foam letters painted to resemble stone-so your titles hit hard and still feel fun.

Using JF Rock Outcrop, you can punch up kids’ game logos, comic covers, science project posters, birthday invitations, YouTube thumbnails, and playful packaging. The irregular rhythm and busy texture grab attention at a glance, especially at larger sizes. For supporting text, pair this free font with a clean geometric sans in a lighter weight so the rocky letters remain the star of the layout.
