Author's note

Liberation Mono Bold, from Ascender Corporation, is a free fixed-width sans serif with the plain, workmanlike feel of classic coding and terminal fonts. Its letters are broad and sturdy without going mechanical, pairing generous curves with square-cut rhythm so the texture stays even and matter-of-fact.

That makes it a natural fit for code samples, developer docs, command-line graphics, interface mockups, and retro-tech posters where a free font needs to signal utility rather than polish. It also works well in short labels, title cards, and data-heavy callouts, because the monospaced spacing gives every line a steady, deliberate beat.
