Author's note

Luxi Serif Oblique, designed by Kris Holmes and Charles Bigelow of Bigelow & Holmes Inc., is a free oblique serif typeface with sharply modulated strokes and an elegant forward lean. Its broad capitals and compact lowercase forms create a lively, calligraphic silhouette. Fine hairlines meet firm, wedge-shaped serifs throughout.

It is especially convincing in editorial design, where its pace and contrast suit magazine features and book jackets. On luxury packaging and cultural event posters, the angled lettering can become part of an engraved or pen-drawn graphic motif.
