Author's note
When BEAR left Mukaijima New Town for Ogura, he wrote a parting message in the elevator hall of Block 11. We took it as a symbol of the state of New Town dream, and we were not ready to say goodbye to our town.
Kyoto Bunkyo University adopted the New Town, and built a community center. They opened it up to anyone; they helped us to run clubs, organise events, and they made a space for us to bring the community together again. They called it "KBU My Town MJ". They wanted to transform BEAR's message of abandonment into a message of hope.
Out of that message, My Town was born.
