Author's note

Obrol font by wep is a free cartoon display typeface that feels like it’s been brushed straight onto paper—thick, inky, and just a little wobbly in all the right ways. The letters are bold and chunky, with soft, uneven edges that give them a friendly, handmade character. It has the weight of a marker pen poster, but with enough structure to stay legible even when packed into tight layouts.

Using Obrol font, you get a loud, playful voice that shines on comic titles, kids’ book covers, classroom posters, YouTube thumbnails, stickers, and festival branding. The loose shapes and black-solid fills grab attention instantly, especially at larger sizes where the texture really shows. This free font pairs nicely with a clean geometric sans for body text—let Obrol handle the headlines while the simpler companion keeps things readable below.
