Author's note

Queen Empress, by PJL, is a free storybook display font with a gently old-world voice. The letters mix broad, rounded shapes with softened wedge-like serifs, giving the font a regal, hand-lettered feel that leans more fairy-tale than formal.

It fits nicely on book covers, cafe branding, poster titles, packaging, and event invitations where you want a little courtly drama without turning stiff. As a free font, it also works well for short headlines, chapter openers, and logo-style wordmarks, since those plump curves and slightly medieval details give even a single word a distinct character.
