Rat Proportional by MagicBear is a free pixel bitmap font with a blunt typewriter mood. Its letters are built from crisp square steps and roomy gaps, so the texture feels mechanical but not rigid, with a slightly homebrew screen-era rhythm that suits the 2026 revival of Mouse Typewriter.
This free font makes sense anywhere you want a lo-fi digital voice without going full arcade - zines, indie game menus, coding-themed posters, cassette or synth cover lines, and short editorial headers all fit naturally. It also works well for title cards and brief labels, because the blocky edges and uneven spacing keep even simple words feeling alive.
