Rat Typewriter by MagicBear is a free bitmap typewriter font with a dry, old-screen feel. Its letters pair chunky pixel edges with typewriter-style serifs, so the texture lands somewhere between a terminal printout and a worn ribbon impression.
It fits game menus, zine headers, poster titles, retro interface graphics, and short editorial callouts where that blocky typewriter mood can do the talking. As a free font, it also makes sense for title cards, labels, and small branding moments, especially when you want the letters to feel mechanically stamped rather than slick.

Made by me (MagicBear) on Fontstruct. A monospace pixel font inspired by the type of old typewriters.
Rat Typewriter was built with FontStruct Designer description:
Variant of "Mouse Typewriter" with a few differences and the x-height and cap height being increased by one pixel. The type sample of a Corona 4 typewriter was used as inspiration.

*At ten-point size, this font is very close to a pica/10-pitch format.*
Mouse Typewriter
