Author's note
R.P.G. Katakana, by Akihirooya Kozoji Nagoya, is a free Japanese display font with a loud arcade-era Katakana feel. The letters are built from chunky black blocks, with clipped corners and squared notches that make the alphabet feel like signage from a retro game screen rather than brush calligraphy.
It works well on posters, game titles, music artwork, streetwear graphics, and short branding where the sharp, modular rhythm can carry the whole message. As a free font, it also makes sense for title cards, logo sketches, and bold cover lines, especially when you want that hard-edged 1999 digital mood without slipping into a generic techno look.
