Author's note
RUNEnglish 1 by Daniel Steven Smith is a free blackletter caps font with a brisk Old English flavor. The letters feel cut from sharp, dark strokes, with angular turns and pointed feet that keep the texture compact while the diagonals and open interiors give the font a slightly leaner, more active rhythm than a ceremonial Gothic.
It fits posters, band logos, beer labels, game titles, chapter openers, and merch where a medieval note needs less ornament and more bite. As a free font, it also works for cover lines, title cards, and monograms, because the caps make a strong silhouette without drifting into overly fussy detail.
