Author's note
Scarab Solid font by Monotype Type Drawing Office - Robin Nicholas, Patricia Saunders 1982 is a free decorative display typeface that turns every letter into a bold black scarab icon. Each character sits inside a beetle silhouette with raised legs and a rounded shell, creating a row of crisp, stamp-like glyphs that feel ancient, graphic, and slightly mysterious. The Scarab family’s Solid style reads almost like a line of carved amulets, giving your titles a strong, emblematic look that grabs attention instantly.
Using Scarab Solid, you can brand themed events, museum promotions, escape rooms, fantasy book covers, pop-up exhibits, and game titles with a unified hieroglyphic flavor in just a few keystrokes. This free font shines at large sizes where the beetle shapes stay sharp and iconic; keep supporting text in a clean geometric sans to let the scarabs take center stage.

Description
Contemporary sans serif design, Scarab Solid contains more humanist characteristics than many of its predecessors and as such is more in tune with the mood of the last decades of the twentieth century. The overall treatment of curves is softer and fuller than in most industrial style sans serif faces. Terminal strokes are cut on the diagonal which helps to give the face a less mechanical appearance. Arial is an extremely versatile family of typefaces which can be used with equal success for text setting in reports, presentations, magazines etc, and for display use in newspapers, Regulars1otions.Scar
