Author's note
Taxidermist by Matthew Austin Petty is a free gothic handwritten font with a strange, storybook-medieval mood. The letters mix tall, tapering strokes with bulbous round forms and thorny little joins, so the font feels half manuscript, half outsider scrawl.
It fits posters, zine covers, band flyers, game title cards, and eerie packaging where a free font can carry a hint of folklore without going fully formal. Use it for short headlines, initials, or monogram-like marks when you want the odd contrast between spiky verticals and soft rounded shapes to do most of the talking.
