Author's note
The Lowly Scribe from MagicBear is a free pixel display font built from stark square modules. Its letters combine tall slab-like strokes with abrupt notches and stepped edges. The uneven internal gaps give the lettering a raw hand-assembled quality despite the strict grid.
Its early game-screen look fits fantasy game titles and retro digital graphics. The blocky forms also suit music posters and merchandise with an underground or DIY direction. In a game interface, the letters can become part of a dungeon sign or carved on-screen emblem rather than ordinary text.
