Author's note

Typewriter Oldstyle by Ethan Dunham of Fonthead Design is a free old-school display font with a scrappy, storybook take on vintage typewriter flavor. The letters wobble with hand-cut energy, mixing bulbous curves, pinched joins, and flared, slightly drooping ends that make the whole font feel worn in rather than mechanical.

It fits editorial mastheads, poster titles, book covers, cafe menus, and packaging where a free font can bring in a literary, thrift-store mood without going full novelty. Use it for short headlines, title cards, or oversized initials when you want that uneven rhythm and soft, inky silhouette to do most of the talking.
