WLM Braille 4, credited to Wolf Lambert and based on Ricardo Cordoba's Braille (Basic), is a free Braille symbol font with compact rectangular cells, narrow internal dividers, and oversized circular marks. The tight spacing creates a steady, mechanical cadence.
Educational publishing is its clearest medium, especially for Braille charts and museum graphics that introduce tactile reading systems through strong repeated forms. It also suits experimental posters and interface mockups, where the six-position cell has an immediate technical look. In explanatory diagrams, the symbols can become labeled visual units that show dot patterns to viewers rather than serving as ordinary text.
