Author's note

Yikatu, Tom Murphy 7's free quirky hand-drawn display font, leans into a playful faux-primitive rhythm that feels improvised and oddly ceremonial at once. The letters mix looped strokes, boxy dots, and bent, uneven forms, so the font reads less like neat lettering and more like a small set of personal marks turned into type.

It suits poster headers, zine covers, record sleeves, game title cards, and short branding where a free font with this offbeat, handmade character can carry the whole mood. Because the shapes feel symbolic as much as typographic, it also works well for monograms, drop-ins, and brief packaging names that need a weird, homemade edge.
