Author's note
Optimus Princeps, by Manfred Klein and released in 2004, is a free Roman inscription serif font with a tall, formal silhouette and crisp wedge serifs. The lettering keeps a carved, monumental outline across the line, so the words feel engraved and ceremonial rather than like a normal text serif.
That profile gives it a natural place on book covers, film titles, museum labels, chapter openers, certificates, and branding for historic venues. The carved outline keeps those applications formal and sharp, which makes the font useful when a project needs a classical note without softening into ornament.
