Author's note
Optimus Princeps SemiBold, a free Roman inscription serif font by M. Klein, draws directly from classical capital lettering with flared strokes and sharply cut wedge serifs. The rhythm is ceremonial rather than decorative, giving the alphabet the measured authority of carved stone instead of a generic book serif.
That makes it a natural choice for museum graphics, historical posters, book covers, film titles, and branding tied to antiquity or civic tradition. Because the forms feel formal and monumental without turning fussy, it can anchor short headlines, chapter openings, commemorative materials, and logo text that needs a distinctly classical voice.
