Author's note

Zone23 Explosions font by Zone23 is a free distorted display typeface that looks like it’s been ripped from a blast of ink and concrete dust. Each letter lurches at a different angle, with razor-edged strokes and warped curves that feel torn, not drawn—like graffiti caught mid-explosion. The uneven rhythm and chunky black shapes give text a raw, dangerous energy that grabs attention from across the room.

Using Zone23 Explosions, you can push titles for gig posters, horror flyers, underground zines, skate graphics, game logos, and YouTube thumbnails into full-chaos mode. The irregular spacing creates a jittery, unstable line that suits loud, rebellious themes and noisy layouts. This free font works best in large sizes with lots of breathing room; pair it with a simple geometric sans for body copy to keep the visuals wild but readable.
