OTF describes an OpenType desktop font; WOFF2 is a compressed web container. This conversion normally keeps the same outlines and OpenType behavior.

Use WOFF2 for browser delivery and retain the original OTF for design applications and archival use.

Ligatures, positioning and variable-font tables are checked because they can matter as much as the visible characters.

Confirm that the font licence permits web embedding even when you are allowed to install the OTF locally.

Are CFF outlines preserved in WOFF2?

WOFF2 can contain the OpenType data from an OTF font, including CFF outlines. This path does not intentionally convert them to TrueType outlines.

Can I convert a variable OTF font?

Variable fonts are accepted. The report compares variation data after conversion and warns when it detects a change.

Is WOFF2 suitable for desktop installation?

WOFF2 is intended for web delivery. Keep or obtain the OTF file for desktop and design-software use.
