Nova Bomb Bold from Tension Type is a free techno display font built from broad, forceful strokes and squared curves. Its compact letterforms combine softened corners with sharply cut interior spaces. The overall silhouette feels sturdy, mechanical, and slightly playful in spirit.
Arcade branding is an especially good fit, with the blocky construction also lending itself to game posters and electronic music packaging. Its rectangular openings can echo buttons and bright interface screens.

This type design was based on a sketch I did a bunch of years ago. It was initially intended as a hand drawn typeface. I started it, but I never really made any progress. In 2026 I decided to give it another shot. Its a bit sci fi, a lot square. Good for large text and logos etc. Not intended for body copy at all.
